Gayle
and Dennis had adventures in early October at the 35th
annual Bouchercon World Mystery and Suspense Conference,
held in beautiful Toronto. For more on this amazing
city, see our Spy Spots feature in World of Espionage. |

See the
beautiful Channel Islands in the background? Here they
are at sunset, viewed from Gayle and Dennis's top deck
in Southern California, where Gayle goes when she's
having plot or character problems. With a notepad on
her lap, inspired, she often finds answers. 10/04

Many fans may not know Gayle wrote
three young adult mysteries in the Three Investigators
series.
The 3-I's have achieved an almost cult-like international
popularity; check out this 3-I "radio-play party"
in Hamburg... more like a rock concert than a literary
gathering! 2-04

Dennis was awarded the
prestigious Marlowe Award in recognition of his literary

author of Ross Macdonald: A Biography and Wall Street
Journal reviewer; Robert Levinson, author of wonderful
novels set in Hollywood and president of MWA SoCal chapter;
Charles Champlin, retired Los Angeles Times art critic
and reviewer; Jonathan Kellerman, whose novels delight
millions of readers; and Dick Lochte, novelist, reviewer,
